cascade organic logo

Cascade Organic

Cascade Organic's roots began as weekend family adventures exploring Oregon’s great wilderness. Former wilderness guide Jeff Michels spent fall weekends teaching his two daughters how to forage wild mushrooms from the bountiful coast range. Caught up in the excitement the family would often harvest more than they could eat. That was when the idea of offering the surplus to local chefs to utilize in their kitchens began. As time went on more and more local chefs requested wild foods and Cascade Organic was born.

PNW Wild Mushrooms

We are a family owned and operated business. My father foraged wild mushrooms with us up to 2015 at the age of 78. We will miss him but are blessed with the knowledge he shared that started us on our journey. Harvesting wild mushrooms is not just a job or a way to make money, it is a passion for us.
